On May 15, 2009, Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate General David Poythress was interviewed by IPJI's Atlanta area coordinator, Dory Ingram, with the aim of establishing the General's position on the Jekyll development issue and the actions of the current Jekyll Island Authority board of directors. The interview reveals that the General, who is a former JIA board member, has a deep attachment to Jekyll Island State Park and is firmly opposed to the development policies now being pursued by the JIA.
