The Islander newspaper continues to shed light on the growing controversies surrounding the Jekyll Island Authority's refusal to apply for a permit to extend mobi-mats to the hard-packed sand, which would provide beach access for the disabled. (Note: Tybee Island has obtained permission from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources for their mats to extend to the hard-packed sand, giving Tybee's visitors-first class customer service.)
